The UW-Medical Physics
Beowulf computer cluster currently consists of 24 AMD Athlon based personal
computers running Red Hat Linux 6.2 with the 2.2.19 kernel. Each
compute node has an 800MHz processor and 512 MB of memory. The computers
are interconnected by a private fast ethernet (100 Mbps) network.
The software available on the cluster includes the PVM, MPICH, and LAM-MPI message passing libraries, as well as FORTRAN, C, and C++ compilers and the PBS job scheduler. Future plans include installing parallel linear algebra solver packages such as PETSc and ScaLAPACK.
