Medical Physics is located at 1300 University Avenue, at the north west corner of University Avenue and Charter St.
(1) Directions From Chicago:
Take Interstate-90 approx. 140 miles to Madison. Take the first exit
for Madison (Hwy 12/18 West, exit # 142A).
Proceed west on Hwy 12/18 (also know as the Beltline) for about 5.5 miles, then take the Park Street exit (# 261 A-B), and proceed north. (Park St. is also Hwy 151).
Stay on Park Street approx. 3 miles, go under a railroad bridge, cross Dayton and Johnson Streets, then make a LEFT from Park St. onto University Avenue, heading west.
Follow University Avenue approx. 1/3 (one third) mile going west. It's best to be in the right-hand automobile lane, just left of the bicycle lane. The third traffic light is Charter Street. Medical Sciences is on the right, immediately past Charter Street, at 1300 University Avenue. 100 meters past Charter, turn right into Parking Lot 20. This is a restricted lot, and you will need to pay on entering. Alternatively, the individual you are visiting in the department may be able to arrange a permit. You may contact that person, or contact the Medical Physics Department.
Walk out of the parking lot through the automobile entrance, turn left, go up the brief flight of stairs and continue following the sidewalk to the side entrance into the Medical Sciences building. Medical Physics offices are located in room 1530, in the main corridor (through which you entered), on the first floor, but nearly all the way back to Charter street.
The UW campus is approximately 150 miles from downtown Chicago.
(2) Directions From Milwaukee:
Take Interstate-94 approx. 80 miles to Madison. When I-94 and I-90
merge, take the Highway-30 exit.
After approx. 2 miles on Hwy. 30, take the "East Washington Ave" (or Hwy 151) exit going South or West (towards the State Capitol). Stay on E. Washington approx 2.5 miles until the Capitol building is only a couple of blocks ahead, then make a right on Webster St.
Go about a block downhill and veer to the left at the traffic lights onto Dayton Street.
Go about one block on Dayton, then at the traffic lights make a right onto Wisconsin Avenue. Go (north) about 2 blocks on Wisconsin Ave, then make a left on Gorham St. (at traffic lights).
Stay on Gorham (approx. one half mile) as it veers to the right and becomes University Avenue. Continue on University Avenue approx. another 1/2 mile going west. It's best to be in the right-hand automobile lane, just left of the bicycle lane. Cross Francis St., Lake St., Park St., Brooks, St., Mills St. and finally, Charter St.
Medical Sciences is on the right, immediately past Charter Street, at 1300 University Avenue. 100 meters past Charter, turn right into Parking Lot 20.
