Primary Research Areas:
Research in thermoluminescent dosimetry initiated in 1960 (author of
the first book on TLD, 1967).
Developed the photon absorptiometry method of measuring bone mineral
in vivo starting in 1960. It is now the standard technique for evaluating
osteoporosis.
Starting in 1970, with colleagues developed many simple instruments
for quality control measurements on medical x-ray equipment. Radiation
