Focus Area 2: Imaging for biological target definition

The next significant advance in cancer therapy will be a paradigm shift from population-based to personalized patient-based treatments. In radiation therapy this paradigm shift will require the transition from the current standard of uniform dose prescription to a non-uniform dose prescription - the process most often termed "dose-painting". We have pioneered some of the efforts in this area, particularly with comprehensive definition of biological targets. Recently we are focusing on employing this information on actual dose painting.
