Anana Elementary Science and Literacy Night

As the school year concludes, Medical Physics tackled Anana Elementary science and reading night. Due to weather, the event was moved to the gymnasium; however, we were still happy to see a great turnout of families eager to learn about science. Eric Wallat led an ultrasound demo where students could find embedded raisins in a heart phantom using an ultrasound transducer. Aeli Olson taught students about radiation and radiation detection using a Geiger counter and antique Fiestaware. Finally, Joe Whitehead talked about how we can use radiation to image the body via x-rays and radiographic film. Thank you to Aeli Olson, Eric Wallat and Joe Whitehead for helping with this event!
