Department of Medical Physics Welcomes Two New Faculty Members
The department of Medical Physics would like to welcome our two newest faculty members, Dr. Reinier Hernandez and Dr. Paul Ellison!
Dr. Hernandez received his Ph.D. from the department in 2016, under the supervision of Dr. Weibo Cai. He most recently worked as a postdoctoral fellow in Dr. Jamey Weichert's lab in the department of Radiology. His research group, the Applied Radiochemistry Laboratory, will focus on improving cancer treatments through better understanding of tumor radiobiology.
Dr. Ellison received his Ph.D. in Physical Chemistry from the University of California-Berkeley in 2011. He has worked with Dr. Onofre DeJesus as a postdoctoral fellow and with Dr. Jerry Nickles as an assistant scientist. His research focus is the development of diagnostic and therapeutic radionuclides for the planning and execution of targeted cancer treatment.
