Doug Dean Chosen to Lead Wisconsin Site for Child Brain Development Study

As part of a new initiative from the National Institute on Drug Abuse, the University of Wisconsin-Madison will be one of 25 sites to study early brain and behavior development and the impact of early exposure to substances – such as opioids – and social stressors in infants and young children. The Wisconsin site will be led by Douglas Dean III, PhD, Assistant Professor of Pediatrics and Medical Physics, as well as Julie Poehlmann-Tynan, PhD, Dorothy O’Brien Professor of Human Ecology.
