Jessica Fagerstrom (PhD '17) honored in Smithsonian Exhibit

For the first time on a national stage, 120 life-size 3D-printed statues of a diverse coalition of contemporary women STEM innovators and role models leading a variety of fields will be unveiled to the public on March 5 at the Smithsonian Institute in Washington, DC.

Medical Physicist and department alum, Dr. Jessica Fagerstrom, is one of the 120 women to be featured in the Smithsonian exhibit. Jessica received her PhD in medical physics from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. She is interested in education, and later received her M.Ed. in Curriculum and Instruction, specializing in Science Education, from the University of Washington. She enjoys volunteering with young students, using medical physics as an example of a possible career path available for students interested in STEM fields.

Congratulations Jessica!
