Cai Invited to Serve Another 3-Year Term on CPRIT Scientific Peer Review Panel

Prof. Weibo Cai, Director of the Molecular Imaging and Nanotechnology Laboratory (, was invited to serve on the Cancer Prevention and Research Institute of Texas (CPRIT, Imaging Technology and Informatics Scientific Peer Review Panel for a 3-Year Term (2014-2016).

The state of Texas established CPRIT in 2007, which will issue $3 billion in bonds to fund groundbreaking cancer research and prevention programs (similar to NIH R21/R01/P01/P50 etc.) and services in Texas. Prof. Cai has previously served a 3-year term from 2010 to 2012 in the CPRIT Interfaces Reviewing Committee. After restructuring of CPRIT in 2013, this panel is now under a new name called “Imaging Technology and Informatics Scientific Peer Review Panel”, in which Prof. Cai will serve his 2nd 3-year term. Both panels were Chaired by Prof. Sanjiv S. Gambhir from Stanford University.
