Implementation of Shear Wave Elastography on a Commercially Available Ultrasound System

speaker

Michael Wang, PhD
Ultrasound Systems Engineering, GE Healthcare

Ultrasound shear wave elastography is a “hot” topic among researchers and is also starting to gain traction in the clinical community. It is an especially challenging task to integrate this feature on a traditional diagnostic ultrasound scanner due to the unique hardware and computational demands required for successful generation and measurement of shear waves in tissue. This talk will present some of the hurdles encountered and the novel solutions used to arrive at a clinically viable feature on the LOGIQ E9 diagnostic ultrasound scanner.
