Rachel D. McKinsey, PhD (hosted by Ms. Amy Weisman and Ms. Catherine Steffel, WISELI)
Medical Physicist e+CancerCare, Lafayette, Louisiana - USA

Medical physics can be described as the application of physics to effectively enhance healthcare and medicine. Medical physicists are concerned with clinical service and consultation, research and development, and teaching. In the clinical setting, the responsibilities of the medical physicist have varied over time in radiation therapy departments. Clinical medical physicists use Task Groups as a common resource of reference to aid them in performing daily, weekly, monthly, and annual responsibilities. During this talk, the clinical role of the medical physicist at e+ Cancer Care will be discussed as well as a review of typical and unique clinical cases of interest.
