Improving Quality and Safety with Surface-Guided Radiation Therapy

speaker

David Shepard (hosted by Dr. Larry DeWerd)
Director of Medical Physics, Swedish Medical Center Seattle, WA

Surface Guided Radiation Therapy (SGRT) uses a set of cameras and detectors along with structured light to create real-time 3D images of a patient's surface. Three key uses of SGRT are in patient setup, intrafraction motion monitoring, and respiratory gating. This talk will cover how SGRT is being used to reduce delivery errors and improve delivery accuracy including its role in lung SBRT and intracranial SRS.

Location: 1325 HSLC (Health Sciences Learning Center), 750 Highland Ave., Madison, WI 53705 - USA

Time: 4:00pm-5:00pm
