Medical Physics Career in Radiation Oncology: Experiences as Junior Clinical Faculty

Surendra Prajapati, MS, PhD, DABR
Assistant Professor, Department of Radiation Physics, Division of Radiation Oncology, University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center, Houston, TX

There are several career avenues after graduating with a medical physics degree: research, clinic, academic and industry to name a few. Working as a medical physics faculty in an academic institution provides exposure to different roles and builds a dynamic career. I will be elaborating my experiences as a clinical radiation physics faculty and will be discussing various responsibilities I had/have in my previous and current faculty positions. I will also be presenting the importance of mentorship in an academic/clinical career.

Location: Webex
