Quantitative MRI is playing an increasingly important role in therapeutic prediction and response assessment in cancer. Magnetic resonance fingerprinting (MRF) is a recent method for obtaining reliable quantitative MRI estimates. Here, an overview of basic MRF principles and state-of-the-art methods to improve the precision of MRF will be discussed in the context of cancer imaging.
