Enhancements to CyberKnife SRS/SBRT

The Accuray CyberKnife robotically controlled radiosurgery system has been in operation for about 7 years now. The system has its own upgrade path and is part of the service contract customers purchase. Company improvements have included bone density image guidance, Synchrony respiratory motion tracking, fiducialless lung lesion tracking over the years of clinical operation. As clinicians have worked with the system, other enhancements have been suggested. We have made several enhancements in San Antonio and Miami which include, Synchrony QA, introduction of a new patient support pad allowing more latero-posterior beams to be used and design of a small water tank scanning system for SRS/SBRT beam data collection. These enhancements will be described along with a brief history of the clinical use of the robotically controlled planning & treatment system.
