Philip Corrado Awarded F31 Grant for MRI Blood Flow Project

Graduate student Philip Corrado, advised by Dr. Oliver Wieben, was recently awarded an F31 grant from the National Institutes of Health for his project "4D Flow Cardiac Magnetic Resonance for Left Ventricular Thrombus Prediction". The goal of the project is to develop and validate an accelerated phase contrast imaging technique with increased sensitivity to low velocities; this technique will then be used to investigate blood stasis and its links to left ventricular thrombus, which is a serious post-infarction complication that can lead to stroke.

Congratulations Phil!
