Search for New Medical Physics Chair Continues

Dean Robert Golden, MD, has asked the search committee to continue identifying candidates for the position of chair of the Department of Medical Physics. The committee is asking for assistance from the SMPH community regarding this task. All applications received by the due date of January 11 will be given full and equal consideration.

Leading the search committee are co-chairs Thomas Grist, MD, professor and chair, Department of Radiology, and James Shull, PhD, professor and chair, Department of Oncology.


The SMPH seeks an accomplished scientist with a strong record of academic achievement and administrative leadership. Special emphasis will be given to individuals with experience in graduate training and faculty mentoring. The successful candidate will have a compelling vision for the future of medical physics in a leading academic medical center. Candidates must have a PhD degree or equivalent and academic credentials for a tenured faculty appointment at the UW-Madison.
