Assessment of Fetal Rhythm Via fMCG

For more than 18 years, our group has been investigating the utility of fMCG for assessment of fetal arrhythmia and fetal well-being. Our studies show that fMCG is an excellent technique for evaluation of fetal rhythm because it is more precise than ultrasound and can assess repolarization abnormalities. FMCG is also an excellent signal source for fetal heart rate monitoring and actocardiography because its high precision allows accurate assessment of beat-to-beat fetal heart rate variability. This research is performed in collaboration with pediatric cardiologists in Milwaukee (Janette Strasburger), Chicago (Bettina Cuneo) and Madison (Shardha Srinivasan).
